Focus: Inventory and Cost Control
GE Lighting, a division of GE Consumer & Industrial, makes some 6,000 lighting products (automotive, florescent, halogen) for residential and commercial markets. In a recent assignment, we assisted with a Maintenance & Stores Assessment and Implementation project. Accomplishments included: significant savings in scrap and cost avoidance; completing the implementation of the CMMS to manage not only the Maintenance Operating System (Work Orders, PMs, Metrics, etc.), but also the site's inventory, purchasing and receiving functions; and identifying, inventorying and reorganizing 90% to 95% of the site's MRO supplies (Over 11,000 line items were identified and inventoried.).
