David Henderson, CEO
David has been in Operations Implementation Consulting for 24 years. Before joining MTG, Ltd. in May 2011 as CEO, he was a Senior Partner for Schlumberger Business Consulting, based in Singapore. Prior to Schlumberger, he was at Celerant Consulting for over 17 years where he held various positions including Head of Process Sectors, Head of Analysis, President Americas and Global COO. David has led many major improvement initiatives, supporting some of the world’s top Oil & Gas and Chemicals firms in the Americas, Europe and Asia regions. He has managed several major accounts across multiple years. He has broad and deep experience in all aspects of operational strategy development and execution.
Jim Nichols, Senior Partner
After graduating from the University of Texas with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Jim spent 20 years in the refining and chemical industries, which included serving as executive vice president for Solomon & Associates, and as president at Pride Companies, L.P. and Chemical Lime Company. His area of expertise is operations and developing world-class organizations through high-performing, continuous improvement cultures.
Rick Sommer, Chairman of the Board
In addition to serving as Chairman for MTG, Rick is also Chairman of CDI Global, a Global Acquisition & Divestiture Advisor for the Middle Market based in Boca Raton, Florida. He has worked with CDI for the past 22 years. Prior to joining CDI, Rick was an executive with Exxon Chemical Company and also CEA. He concentrates on acquisitions and divestitures in energy, chemicals, pulp, paper and packaging, high technology, and heavy equipment industries. He holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.
Jim Down, Advisor and Board Member
As an Advisor to MTG, Jim brings 20 years of experience in management consulting. Prior to his retirement, Jim Down was Vice Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors of Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman), responsible for the overall direction and management of the firm. For over 20 years he directed hundreds of studies for major U.S. and international corporations covering merger and acquisitions, strategic and market planning, and organizational assessments. He is a member of the board of directors of Transplace, Shawmut Construction, MTG, Oxfam America, Care Group, The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Foundation. Mr. Down has a B.S. degree from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science and an MBA from The Wharton School.
Steve McVeigh, Advisor
As an Advisor to MTG, Steve brings over 37 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. For 32 years Steve served in the domestic and international upstream sector of Royal Dutch Shell Group of companies. He also served as CEO for Sakhalin Energy Investment Company in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Moscow, Russia (a JV operated by Shell with Mitsui and Diamond Gas). Steve has also served on the Advisory Board for Celerant Consulting, providing strategic advice for engagement of management consulting activities with North American Energy companies. He holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla.
Ted Ryan, Advisor
As an Advisor to MTG, Ted brings 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Ted Ryan is Vice President, Marketing & Industry Relations for SSP Offshore Inc. Ted began his career in the oil and gas industry in 1979 and has held management and executive positions with NL industries, Tri-State Fishing Tools, Baker Hughes, the Western Company and BJ Services. Ted serves on the boards of the Offshore Energy Center and the Board of the Houston Petroleum Club and is also a member of and chairs committees for the National Offshore Industry Association.
Steven Taylor, Executive Vice President, Operations
Prior to joining MTG, Steve was Vice President at Celerant Consulting and CharlesRiver Associates, and President of an independent consulting firm. He has been an operations implementation consultant for over 20 years. His client projects focus on improving business performance using supporting organization, process and systems changes to deliver financial and operational benefits. His client projects have delivered over $1 billion of CFO-validated profit improvement, cost reduction and cash flow improvement. Steve had designed and led major improvement initiatives, supporting some of the world's top Oil & Gas and Chemicals firms in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific Regions.
Ken Burdick, Executive Vice President, Business Development
Ken has over 17 years of consulting experience and specializes in the design of major change programs in the Oil and Gas and Chemicals sectors. Prior to joining MTG, Ken was the global head of the Energy Sector for Celerant Consulting. Ken holds an MBA from the University of Michigan.
